Dont Forget!!!!!
Class Presentation coming soon!!!
Hopefully your child has been busy asking their grandparents questions about the olden days. Your child will need to prepare a 2 minute talk to present their findings about their grandparents life to the rest of the class. Photos would be great if possible! They can make a poster, a powerpoint or just speak to the class about the answers their grandparents gave.
Presentations will commence next Monday 17th June, so please help them to practise at home before this date.
Any questions please dont hesitate to see me!
Thank you in advance for your support!

Welcome back to Term 2
Hello and welcome back to term 2. What a bumpy week we have just had. I think all of the kids bar one child, including myself came down with a horrible bug. I hope everyone is feeling better and I look forward to seeing you all on Monday.
Congratulations to Erica Coady and the family on the arrival of their little baby girl. We wish you all the best and look forward to seeing you soon.
This term you may here the words Daily 5, Read to Self, Read to Someone, Word work. As a whole school we are implementing the Daily 5 program during our reading groups. The content is the same, however the structure for the reading groups change. What I am enjoying about the program is that it is allowing me to catch up more often with your children to discuss their reading with them working on areas of need. This occurs sometimes one on one or in a small group.
Reading strategies discussed this week. We want children to do these independently.
-Attention to Punctuation - full stops, comma, talking marks. When children pay attention to these there reading sounds fluent and phrased.
-Reading needs to make sense. If it doesn't make sense children need to re-read to gain more meaning.
-We read for enjoyment. How to pick best fit books. Books that interest us and are not to hard.
Sound/Letter blends discussed this term. Please reinforce at home when reading readers.
Words beginning bl, br, cr, cl
Endings including ing, s, er, ed

Hi
Everyone. I hope you are all having a great week. I can’t believe that it is
already March and we have only 4 more weeks till the end of term.
CALLING
FOR PARENT HELPERS! J
I am now
looking for PARENT HELPERS who would like to come and assist in the classroom with
Reading and Maths. Please check out the Class
Timetable Page on this blog for more information regarding times!
Please
come and see me or leave me a comment if there is a time that you would like to
assist.
Just a
reminder to let you know, this year we have a change of policy with notices and
who they are given to. All notices need
to be given to the classroom teacher, along with any money. I then collate them into a class list and
forward it on to the office. Please
understand that our office staff are very busy and have other things that they
must do so I please ask that they come to me.
Reminders/Upcoming Events
*Don’t forget
swimming starts next Tuesday. Changes
were made recently to our times and we are now swimming first, leaving at 9
am. We ask that all children are here by
8.45 am. Could all children please arrive at school ready for swimming, with
caps on, bathers under their clothes and thongs on. Please have their school shoes in their bags
so they can get changed into back at school after swimming.
For parents
who wish to come and watch down at the pool the lesson will start at 10.05 am and
will go for 40 mins. We look forward to
seeing you all there. For those parents
that offered to assist with coming on the bus I would like to say a big thank you
to you however due to limited spaces on the buses and a re-gig of classes we
are short of room. Thank you and apologies
for the late change. We will see you
there!
*Next
Friday is a Public Holiday! No School.
Till next
time….. Keep Smiling! And please come
and see me if you have any concerns!
